This equipment increases safety of shipping, in particular, at busy points. The subsidy consists of a fixed payment of € 2,100. Inland waterway vessels that are registered in another country of the European Union (except Germany) are also eligible.

The main conditions are as follows:
- The inland AIS equipment item has been purchased and installed on or after 1 January 2009.
- The inland AIS equipment meets the RIS (River Information Services) directive of the European Union.
- The inland waterway vessel is listed in the public register.
How to apply
You can apply for this subsidy up to and including 31 December 2012 at NL Agency. You can find a list with AIS equipment that has been approved for subsidy on the website of the Central Commission for the Navigation of the Rhine (CCNR).
