International business
Goods importers and exporters in the Netherlands are subject to various laws, rules and regulations. Several subsidy schemes designed to promote international cooperation are in place. The Chamber of Commerce (KvK), Enterprise Europe Network and NL EVD International can provide support in this regard. If your activities focus on trade with developing nations, you can apply to the Centre for the Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) for information.
For information on rules and regulations, licences, subsidies and taxes, select one of the topics in the left-hand column under “International business”.

Service counters in the EU
The EU Services Directive makes it easier for service providers to do business in Europe by removing a number of hurdles and making formalities easier in EU Member States. Since 28 December 2009, every Member State has had a central online service counter for businesses in the service industry. In the Netherlands, this counter is known as Answers for Business.
