Starting or closing a business

When starting or closing a business in the Netherlands, you must comply with a number of rules and regulations regarding, for instance, being included in or removed from the Trade Register (Handelsregister), registration or final settlement with the Tax and Customs Administration (Belastingdienst), and registering with or deregistering from the records kept by a product board or industry board.

Select a topic for information on rules and regulations. You can also use the Step-by-step guide for starting a business in the Netherlands to quickly determine which obligations you must fulfil.
