Dismissing staff

On this page you find rules and regulations in relation to dismissing staff. For example, you must apply to the Public Employment Service (UWV WERKbedrijf) for permission to dismiss employees with a permanent contract. If you have agreed to provide employees with severance pay, you must observe special tax rules. Specific rules governing the dismissal of staff and the provision of severance pay are often included in collective labour agreements (CAOs).
