Distance sales or sales away from the shop

On this page you find rules and regulations for distance sales or sales away from the shop. When selling products at a distance (online, by telephone or by post, for example), you must take account of the specific rules on this subject in the Dutch Civil Code (Burgerlijk Wetboek). If you sell products at people’s homes, you must comply with the Door-to-Door Sales Act (Colportagewet).

If you want to check whether you need to pay VAT or income tax with regard to your income from Internet sales, you can use a digital test that the Tax and Customs Administration has developed for this purpose.
