Tree-felling licence

You will sometimes require a permit in the Netherlands if you want to cut down, move or drastically prune one or more trees in your municipality. The permit you need is the All-in-one Permit for Physical Aspects (omgevingsvergunning). This permit was referred to as a ‘tree-felling licence’ (kapvergunning) until 1 October 2010.

You can obtain this permit from the municipal authority. More information about how to apply can be found on the 'All-in-one Permit for Physical Aspects' page.
