Suspension of payment

If you are temporarily no longer able to pay your debts, you can ask the court to grant you a suspension of payment. You will have to ask a lawyer to submit the application. Arranging suspension of payment can help you avoid bankruptcy. The rules on suspension of payment are contained in the Bankruptcy Act (Faillissementswet).

Management by an administrator

If suspension of payment is granted, the court will appoint an administrator who will help you manage your assets.

Register of suspensions of payment

The online Central Insolvency Register (Centraal Insolventieregister) available at Rechtspraak.nl provides details on all suspensions of payment granted after 1 January 2005.
