Reporting industrial accidents

As an employer, you are obliged to report industrial accidents to the SZW Inspectorate (Inspectie SZW) if the accidents result in the following:

  • death;
  • permanent injury, such as blindness, amputation or chronic complaints;
  • hospitalisation.

You do not have to report treatments on an outpatient basis.

You must maintain a record of all reported accidents and accidents that led to more than three days of absence from work due to illness. In this record, you enter the nature and date of the accident. You have to make this information available to your employees.
