Professional childminder-child ratio

If you run a childcare organisation in the Netherlands, you must bear in mind the professional childminder-child ratio (i.e. the ratio of the number of carers to the number of children present in the childcare organisation).

The childminder-child ratio depends on the group’s age range and varies according to the type of childcare provided: day nursery/crèche, out-of school care or childminding.

Rules governing the basic quality of childcare required, including the professional childminder-child ratio, can be found in the Policy Rules on the Quality of Childcare and Playgroup Facilities 2012 (Beleidsregels kwaliteit kinderopvang en peuterspeelzalen 2012).
