Portrait right

If you film or photograph people, you will be the owner of the copyright but not the portrait right. The portrait right means that the person involved is entitled to prohibit the publication or copying of the photo or film.

Instruction

A portrait right will apply when the person filmed or photographed has himself or herself given the instruction to take the photos or make the film. If the person filmed or photographed has not given the instruction, a portrait right will only apply in specific cases. It will, for example, apply when the photo is detrimental to the image of the person filmed or photographed or when the photo will be used for an advertisement statement that is not supported by the person filmed or photographed.
