Permission for security firms and detective agencies to carry handcuffs

Private security firms and detective agencies in the Netherlands are prohibited from carrying or using handcuffs as part of their work. In consultation with the Minister of the Interior and Kingdom Relations, the Minister of Security and Justice may grant permission to carry handcuffs in certain exceptional situations.
