Parallel imports
To import and sell products from outside the EEA (i.e. the EU plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein), you must have permission to do so from the manufacturer. Imports without permission are referred to as parallel imports. A product brought to the market in the EEA via an official distribution channel is then freely marketable in the EEA.
The penalties for parallel import vary from compensation to the destruction of the supply of articles. The prohibition does not apply to a number of products.
