Liquor licence
In order to sell beverages with a high alcohol content, you will need a liquor licence. You can obtain this licence from the municipal authorities. Your off-licence shop must comply with the organisational requirements laid down in the Licensing and Catering Act (Drank- en Horecawet). Your management must meet certain requirements as well: managers must be at least 21 years of age and must hold an SHV Statement of Social Hygiene (SVH Verklaring Sociale hygiƫne) or a Statement of Professional Competence (Verklaring Vakbewaamheid).
What to do in case of changes to your off-licence shop?
Does your off-licence shop change to such an extent that it no longer fits the description in your liquor licence? In that case you must have the licence adjusted or apply for a new licence.
Tasting
Your customers are allowed to taste a free sample of an alcoholic beverage in your off-license shop, but only when offered by a member of staff. The alcoholic beverages can not be offered by a promotional team.
