IPPC guideline

The European Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) Directive is oriented around preventing and combating environmental pollution. The Directive obliges intensive livestock farms and large polluting industrial companies to use what are referred to as the best available techniques to minimise their pollution levels, their consumption of energy and raw materials and their waste generation. In the Netherlands the IPPC Directive is embedded in the Environmental Management Act (Wet Milieubeheer, Wm) and the Water Act (Waterwet).
