Exemption from the dumping ban of plant waste and soil tare

Agricultural businesses may not burn, dump or bury waste materials. However, certain types of plant waste and soil tare are exempted. Under certain conditions, you may use roadside grass clippings, heathland turf and clippings, crop waste and soil tare either in or on the soil. These conditions vary according to type. For nearly every type, the waste materials must not be contaminated and must be spread evenly over the soil.
