Doing business with the former Netherlands Antilles

The Netherlands Antilles ceased to exist as such as from 1 October 2010. If you do business with Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius or Saba, take the changed status into account:

  • Curaçao and Sint Maarten are new countries with their own administration and legislation.
  • Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba (BES islands of the Caribbean Netherlands) are Dutch municipalities. Antillean legislation continues to be in force on these islands until it has been replaced by Dutch legislation (step-by-step).

In addition, the new tax system for Caribbean Netherlands came into force as from 1 January 2011.
