Bus transport licences
If you provide national or international bus transport services or bus transport services on your own account in or from the Netherlands, you may, in certain cases, require a licence, certificate or journey form from KIWA Register.
Community licence
You require a community licence and a certified copy for each bus if you offer national or international bus transport services within the European Economic Area (EEA).
Licence for international regular transport services
If you provide regular bus transport services outside the EU, you must have a licence. Regular transport is the carriage of persons with a given regularity and along a specified route, during which passengers may board and disembark at predetermined locations.
Journey form for occasional transport
If you provide occasional transport services to countries outside the Netherlands, you must have a journey form. This form contains information about the destination, route and number of passengers. You must have a completed journey form available in the coach before the start of the journey.
Certificate for cross-border non-commercial passenger transport
If you transport passengers by coach to EU/EEA countries on your own account, you will need a certificate.
Own-account transport is transport without a commercial purpose. The transport activity may only be an additional activity and must concern a closed group of persons.
No certificate or licence is required for national bus transport services on one's own account, such as an employer providing transport to his employees.
Transport report
If you are established in the Netherlands, you, as a licence holder, must submit a transport report to KIWA register within 2 months after the end of each calendar year.
