Automatic issuing of a permit (government decision deadline exceeded)

If you apply for a permit in the Netherlands, the authorities have to take a decision by a set deadline. If the authorities fail to meet this deadline, the principle of Lex Silencio Positivo (LSP) may be applied, which means that the permit will be issued automatically.

Because of safety reasons, this principle does not automatically to all permits, however. The confirmation of receipt of your application for a permit will state whether or not the LSP principle applies.
