Privacy statement
Privacy statement regarding the processing of personal data of service providers for the Point of Single Contact (Services Counter)
In addition to providing an avenue of communication with service providers to handle procedures and formalities, it is possible to submit the data required for these procedures electronically via the Point of Single Contact (Services Counter) [Dienstenloket]. If you as service provider prefer, all of the correspondence associated with these procedures (including permit applications) – from application to the final decision – can take place electronically. Handled in a secure environment, this electronic correspondence requires the processing of personal data. This statement contains additional information on how the Minister of Economic Affairs and Answers for Business [Antwoord voor Bedrijven] will handle this data.

Personal data processing for the Point of Single Contact (Services Counter)
Personal data is processed to facilitate the exchange of messages related to procedures and formalities handled by the central service counter. The grounds for the processing of this data are established in the legal obligations laid down in or pursuant to the Services Act [Dienstenwet]. Based on the Services Act, the Minister of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation bears responsibility as defined in the Personal Data Protection Act [Wet bescherming persoonsgegevens] as regards this processing of personal data. This responsibility includes the processing of data to facilitate correspondence related to procedures and formalities. However, the Minister is not involved in nor bears any responsibility for the substantive settlement of procedures and formalities and does not have the right to access the contents of messages. The competent authorities and service providers bear responsibility for this. Answers for Business handles data processing as defined in the Personal Data Protection Act.
Types of data
Your personal data will be processed primarily when you create a Message Box account. In addition to the data you enter, it also pertains to data which can be traced back to natural persons.
The data required to create a Message Box account are outlined in the 'scheme for the central point of single contact (service counter) and internal market information system' [Dienstenregeling centraal loket en interne markt informatiesysteem] (Government Gazette 2009, no. 18558). This data includes the name (given name and surname) of the natural person, who, in the capacity or on behalf of the service provider, creates the account; the e-mail address indicated for new Message Box message notifications; and data provided to restore the service provider’s access to the Message Box account in the event of lost login information. In addition, user data are recorded each time users access the Points of Single Contact (Services Counter), including the ID code of the organisation and the user. This is done to ensure the proper functioning of the Points of Single Contact (Services Counter), security, investigations in the event of incidents and the restoration of message exchange functions, for instance, in the event of emergencies.
Rights of data subjects
You have the right to access the personal data processed and, if relevant, request to have this data corrected, supplemented, deleted or blocked if the personal data is factually incorrect, is incomplete for the purposes for which it was collected or is irrelevant or is in conflict with the law.
Security of your personal data
The Minister has implemented appropriate organisational and technical security measures to prevent the unauthorised access, unauthorised use, unauthorised amendment, unlawful or unintentional destruction or unintended loss of personal data. The Minister also monitors the process to ensure that these measures are also observed by third parties engaged to process personal data.
