Inspection authority: Customs

The Dutch Customs Administration monitors the import and export of goods and the related documents. Customs ensures that goods that are not allowed into the Netherlands are stopped at Europe’s outer border. Customs also imposes and collects taxes (such as import duties, excise duties, consumer taxes and private motor vehicle and motorcycle tax).
